WATER RESERVOIR Vlashka River

The water reservoir is situated over 1000m above sea level on the road from Kostenetz to Borovets, about 70 km away from the capital of Sofia.

The water reservoir spreads over a territory of 113,000m2 and has an earth-fill water-pressure dam wall, a spillway and a draining shaft.

The Iskar Dam is the largest water reservoir in Bulgaria. The is located near Sofia; it lies 25 km south of the city, and is avery good recreation spot where aquatic sports can be practiced.

The Shturkelovo gnezdo (StorkÕs nest). Resort is a place worth visiting.
Special attention is paid to strict observance of bathing and recreation rules,
because the lake is also a drinking water reservoir for the capital.

There are numerous small restaurants at the lakeside.

The Ikar Dam is just 30 minutes drive from the Villa Estate Maritsa.
