Bulgaria's third city is an important communication center with road, rail, sea and air transport links to many national and international destinations, not that this is all Varna has to offer. The town has a wide diversity of museums and exhibits while the surrounding areas contain many resorts and areas of natural beauty.
Varna's main cultural center is the Theater and Opera House in the center of the town.
The Palace of Sport and Culture, occasionally hosts festivals events while other entertainments include numerous Discos, Cinema and a Puppet Theater.
Varna has a very attractive park called the Sea Gardens. There are many restaurants, cafes, clubs and a lot of entertainment on offer for all ages.
Also within the park are the Planetarium, Natural History Museum, and an Aquarium, introducing the plant and animal life of the coast, as well as a Dolphinarium and a small Zoo.

Through its international airport, Varna is connected by air with Sofia and by charter and schedule flights with many European cities.
During the summer months of 2005 Varna International Airport serviced over 1.5 million passengers and recent expansion will see the number of passenger arrivals in 2006 increasing by 10% with over 50 airlines using the airports facilities including British Airways
